The Fraxel® laser treats wrinkles around the eyes (periorbital wrinkles), age and sun spots (pigmented lesions), brown spots, melasma (the “mask of pregnancy”), acne scars, and surgical scars through skin resurfacing. The latest upgrade on the device, which utilizes two different wavelengths (Fraxel® DUAL), can result in faster clearance of sun freckles and sun damage as well as improvement in texture and wrinkles. Dr. Polder has served as an Investigator in early clinical trials utilizing the Fraxel DUAL upgrade. The Fraxel® can be safely used in all skin types, and in non-facial sites such as the forearms, hands, neck and chest. There is minimal downtime with this procedure.
